.... On this easter day, here sunny and cold in Oakland, I feel that we, all of us, have been taken hostage by forces we understand all too well, but whose demented "rogue" powers we always underestimate... everyone here, that is my friends and their families have become sick in their minds, their hearts and their souls over these "humanitarian bombings" yet we are helpless and hopeless to act - and we join the rest of the invaders and the invaded , as losers, in this monstrous battle where, from the very beginning we were all losers, a battle where there was absolutely nothing to gain through such violence.....and as if this were not enough, we read today, this very easter day, that in Jerusalem, a stone throwing battle breaks out between - you'll never guess - christians and moslems over a piece of land (now a parking lot) claimed by both to have proto-historical religious significance - the israeli police had to intervene to put down the violence (now between christian and moslem, not in bosnia, but in the holy land)-
