Your interest in our Kosovo On-Line Web site has confirmed that the BETA news agency was right in deciding to keep it going. We have announced new topics and believe that we will be able to engage new contributors on both the Serb and Albanian side to tackle important issues concerning the problem of Kosovo.

Many of you have inquired about friends and acquaintances in Kosovo and elsewhere in the FRY; therefore, we have decided to set aside a special section called Contact Corner through which we hope to help you re-establish contact and exchange messages with your friends.

Kosovo On-Line was started by the Beta news agency and the Albanian-language daily Koha Ditore in February 1998, to encourage Serb-Albanian dialogue on Kosovo at a time when the conflict in the province threatened to escalate. Koha Ditore ceased publication on March 23, 1999, and moved its offices to Macedonia. After that, BETA decided to carry on with the project on its own.

Your views in regard to the Kosovo problem are still welcome, and BETA will continue to publish them in accordance with the rules we set for their publication.
